In Wissenkerke, Noord Beveland, a unique area is being developed. On February 19, 32 companies met to plan the new passive house area. The event was hosted by the Build with CaRe partner Gemeente Noord Beveland together with Stichting Passief Huis Holland. The whole building chain from architects to builders to producers of material were represented.

Low-energy eco-homes that take a matter of days to build will be cutting the cost for tenants of a south Norfolk housing charity in the UK. The component parts are driven on to the site, and include 14 prefabricated panels from Sweden with triple-glazed windows already installed, ready for lifting into place by crane. |

The Bayer Science & Education Foundation has chosen energy efficiency expert Professor Eberhard Jochem from the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe as the winner of the Bayer Climate Award. Professor Jochem is being honored for his pioneering technical and economic contributions to energy efficiency. He has proven that Germany could cut its CO2 emissions by almost 15 percent by 2020 in a commercially profitable way simply by improving energy efficiency.
