The University of Groningen is going to play an important role in GreenerBuildings, a European project on saving energy in commercial buildings and offices. This will involve developing software and sensors for a system that will attune the energy consumption in a building to the activities that are taking place there at a certain moment in time.

Jean Lambert, the Green MEP for London, is appointed ambassador for Build with CaRe. She will serve as an overall figure head in Europe acting as a spokesperson for the project and promoting the aims of the partnership.
“It is an honour to be asked to serve as ambassador on such a progressive, innovative and important project as Build with CaRe, says Mrs Lambert."

The Build with CaRe partnership met in late April at Hindås outside of Gothenburg. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress of the project and to go on a study tour in Västra Götaland.

150 people met at West Suffolk College on the 14th of April to discuss how to design and construct low energy buildings. They included representatives of all aspects of the construction industry from architects and planners to builders and installers. The participants had 13 interesting workshops to choose from, with topics ranging from insulation and ventilation to bio-mass and micro CHP.
